SoftBrands Rolls Out ERP Software, Service Bundles for Remote Sites

Seeking to connect with large manufacturing enterprises that are expanding operations into emerging geographic markets, SoftBrands Inc. today introduced a bundled package of ERP software and services that will be sold by SAP AG's direct sales force.

The Emerging Markets Platform consists of SoftBrands' FourthShift Edition for SAP Business One ERP suite, as well as deployment services and templates, and integrated support for language and fiscal requirements in 40 regions of the world.

Daniel Head, SoftBrands' vice president for SAP large enterprise, said the bundled Emerging Markets Platform is intended to appeal to large enterprises that are expanding their operations into emerging parts of the world, but do not want to spend the hundreds of thousands of dollars it might cost to deploy large, complex ERP packages there. SoftBrands' target, Head told Managing Automation, is to sell 10-user deployments, complete with deployment templates and services, for under $100,000 per site.
